CZ 75 “Must Haves” from CGW(?)
« on: April 15, 2022, 11:21:40 PM »
CGW has announced the availability of an extended slide stop of their own design. Since  the CZ part has been out of stock for a year or more I plan on ordering the CGW part. What else should I include in my order?  I’m thinking their upgraded trigger return spring, floating trigger pin and the upgraded firing pin roll pin. Am I missing anything? Thanks.

Might as well buy this kit and get the mainspring too.

I grabbed an extractor pin because I disassemble regularly for deep cleaning.

If you shoot 3000 rounds or more a year I would get an extra extractor, spring and pin, pin for FPB, sear spring.  Saves on shipping...I HATE needing a $2 part and having to pay $8 in shipping...LOL
If I had known how much better being retired is than working I would have done it FIRST.

Always good to add a few spares when you order. I always keep extra FPRP's, sear springs, lifter springs, and front sight pins.

I’m a big fan of the CGW recoil springs, the color coding by weight is nice and replacing the recoil spring on a regular schedule will be the best way to prevent that new slide stop from breaking.

I like a stainless steel guide rod too, but if you want one you’ll be fine with any reputable manufacturer there.

Trouble finding a source for a "20 hammer strut full size".  Out of stock at cgw.
Anyone know a source?
Thanks

Just bought 3 from this website:
https://www.cz-parts.com/cz-shadow-2-main-spring-rod-20
They are Czech parts company and are out of stock but they allow you to place an order on back-order. I placed my order mid-March when they were also out of stock and it took ~4 weeks total for them to get to me.

It really depends on what you are doing with the CZ75 and what upgrades you want.  It's a slippery slope once you get a fully cajunized/upgraded CZ.  The parts you mention are the bare minimum.  If you are planning any polishing/other upgrades then I'd add an extra L spring (or two) assuming it is a B model.  I'd also consider the original 85C trigger, it is much more comfortable than the stock recurve (assuming yours isn't brand new with the updated trigger >2021).

I'm not sure why you would want an extra main spring strut?  I've guess if you didn't want to disassemble the OEM when upgrading the hammer and disco?  It's not that hard to get the hammer pins out with a starter punch.

Cheers,
Toby

I'm going to play with different cgw disconnectors.
An extra strut/hammer assembly for r&d would be nice to have.  Sometimes I muff things up.   ::)
