CZ75B Omega Slide drops with loaded magazine insertion
« on: November 25, 2018, 06:00:03 PM »
Shooting my new Omega today and noticed that it will sometimes drop the slide when a loaded magazine is inserted with a little force. Will not occur with empty mag. Anybody else have this issue?

Lots and lots and lots of people. There are threads upon threads about it.

A quick search for 'slide drops' gives 4 pages' worth.

So this is normal and I should just consider it a CZ bonus. If nothing else it will improve my timing with mag changes.  ;D

Some guns do it easily, other less so. Some shooters like it, some would prefer it do it every mag change, others dislike it and go to great lengths to fix the supposed 'problem' or 'defect'.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Personally, I don't care if my gun does it or not. It's not like I plan on it happening every mag change, then when it doesn't, end up standing there with my mouth open. I expect to have to drop the slide myself every time, so if I don't have to, bonus!

YMMV.

It is most-likely the Bullet Profile tripping the Slide Stop
Some of the rounder shouldered Bullets have been known to hit the Locking Lug

My Phantom does it and startled my at first because my other 4 75 series guns don't do it.

I'm still deciding of I like it or not.

Good to know!  (not a cz, please forgive me)  I got a new FN FNX.  I had the same experience.  Called FN, it's normal.  He wanted a video to see how hard I was slamming the mag in before he could give a true opinion. At range like loading speeds, it operates normally, but if you get in a hurry, the gun knows and saves ya step.  This being a strictly offensive weapon to me, I like it!  For a range gun, or maybe even a carry pistol, this would be unacceptable to me....but I wont carry a gun without a manual safety and still think a 1911 is the best thing ever.....take it for what it's worth.

Omega does it ... 75BD does not... and I?ve tried.  I consider it a nice feature.
