Golden Tiger in a CSA VZ58
« on: March 01, 2019, 12:08:38 AM »
I haven?t been paying attention for a few years and dropped off around the time Golden Tiger was going through reports of hard primers and having FTF on certain 7.62x39 platforms.  Has anyone run any of the current lots of GT through a CSA VZ58?  Results?  I didn?t see much via search...

I have a VZ2008, not a CSA, but they both use the same surplus internals.  The CSA parts will be at least equal to, if not better than, the Century surplus parts.  I've shot a 2-3 thousand rounds of Golden Tiger over the last five years and have had about a half dozen duds, including with some SKS's.  The primers were always heavily dimpled.  I don't think it was due to the platform, but instead that Golden Tiger has had several batches with about a 2-3 duds per 1,000 rounds.  In my opinion, that's fine for range ammo, but not for anything more serious.  As range ammo, it's pretty expensive.  I've never had any kind of malfunction whatsoever with any flavor of Wolf from any factory.

Ive ran a couple thousand through my DTech VZ 58, no issues, I use GT almost exclusively. Duds seem to be pretty hit or miss, mine early 2017 production I think
