Hi CZ world  8)

I'm going through the license process here, fair way to go but there is a light in the tunnel. I have an interest in ISPC/Match Action/Service Pistol type of events and I've been trolling this and several other sites looking ahead to decision time. Hoping I can get some gems here.

I've kindoh of narrowed my choice down to 4 pistols, and all have some features I like and some I don't (not a bigggie as I'm happy to slowly work on upgrades etc - 75 shadow line seems ideal but not available in Australia

1 New Edition - Love the stainless steel, great looking, stainless barrel, proven trigger, basic sights (although would look to upgrade to Novak or competition style eventually)

Not so keen on FPB - might remove it or learn to live with it if I went with this pistol. Can it be removed without perm alteration to internals of the pistol.

Pride of ownership would be strong with this one.

2 SP-01 Shadow - expensive (relatively) although comes with 4 mags here, no FPB, has nice sight as supplied, think it comes with stainless barrel

Not so keen on full dust cover.

Pride of ownership would be "ok" with this one to start with, I'm sure it would grow on me

3.  85 Combat -  economical here, although comes with just two mags, no FPB, adjustable sights (which I'd probably appreciate early while developing loads? but eventually replace with fixed sights, some trigger adjustment available, like the beaver tail, like the ambi controls,

Not sure if comes with stainless barrel.

Pride of ownership would be pretty strong with this one

4. And lastly, 75b Omega

Economical here, two mags only supplied for the price, simple trigger, some vague opinions that the trigger lacks "redundancy" and has more load on a single component? Some stories of issues with non genuine mags, and apparently limited 'upgrade' options for the trigger. A FPB (Can it be removed?) and option to change out the safety to a de-cocker (nice to know - not sure if would ever do it)

Pride of ownership - meh - fair.

So that's where I'm at.

My heart say "New Edition",  (knowing I might be spending a bit later)

my Head says SP-01 Shadow, and

my wife and wallet say "85 Combat" (knowing I'll be spending a bit later)

Am I over thinking it??

I would go for the stainless and keep the FPB just for safety reasons. You could get a reduced powered FPB spring, longer FP and it would improve the feel.
I am hoping CZ comes out with a stainless with the decocker one day.

That 75B stainless (new edition) looks sweet.  That would be my first choice if you're not a fan of the full dust cover (although that provides you with an accessory rail if you want to attach a light/laser).

The New Edition is a super sweet looking pistol and you'll wind up wanting to baby it to keep its distinctive and attractive dual finishes and wood grips in near pristine condition instead of using it in events. [emoji1] I assume it comes with the same package of two chromed mags and Tru Dot tritium sights as it does in the States and ?R. Swap out the mainspring for a lighter #15 and it'll have a nice DA for minimal work and money. It is definitely the number one for pride of ownership factor.

Thanks all for tips and the welcome. Roll on licence process!

Think I'm going to go with the heart (new edition)

I'm like a kid waiting for the lolly shop door to open.

Are you sure the Barrel on the New Edition is stainless? Doesn't say anything about it on the CZ (czech) website.

You said the 75 Shadow line isn't available there but what about the normal cz 75 shadow?

The New Edition should have a stainless barrel.

My 2 cents, if you're playing games the Shadow with a compatition hammer is the way to go, I like the look without the full dust cover too but trust me that extra weight will put you back on target faster and better.
CZ 75 SP01 Shadow, strong enough for a man, but she likes it too!

Well you can"t accuse me of rushing things.

Between a sickness in the family, and getting diverted into other toys (3 rifles and 3 other handguns), I finally pulled the trigger and aquired a CZ75b New Edition TODAY!

its lovely!

hopefully can get away from work early enough Wednesday to to range, otherwise its first weekend in April.

Well congratulations! I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy my 75 BD.

Well you can"t accuse me of rushing things.

I?ve been there as well. It took me 6 years to finally acquire my P99 compact.

Congrats and welcome! I have a Limited Edition which I understand is basically a New Edition with a different roll stamp on the slide. Crazy accurate out of the box with only mods a CGW spring pack 1. It can shoot the centers out of targets at 25 yards. Seems to happen most when I let someone else shoot it. Don't ya hate it when people outshoot ya with your own gun!?!  ;)
