After visiting M-13 Industries and Czeching out their custom build production AK rifles (they were very nice), went into an LGS just to have a look around. Great selection of CZ?s, including a Parrot, and a P10f OR. They had a nice Daniel Defense AR pistol in 300 blk, nice burnt copper color, slick, but nearly $1,900. A couple nice Scars 16s/17s, and some great deals on a pair of IWI X95?s (black and FDE)for $1500 and change.
Had my eye on a P10c in FDE for $439, but had also been researching the new for 2019 Saint Victor Pistol with the flat trigger. Almost scooped the original Saint Pistol up a couple times last year, but always left with something else (usually a CZ). Considered the 300 blk model (especially for HD), but always wanted the pretty trick blast diverter the SA 556 comes with, and love the sound/fireworks a 556 properly gassed in a 7.5? makes. Quite the show. That and I shoot entirely too much for the 300 Blk to be economical at the present time. Will get one someday though for sure. But 16 to 20 cents a round delivered on the 556/223 is too good for where I find myself (shooting) often. Do love the 300 blk performance-wise as a round tho. 556 is just way easier and more readily available in SHTF scenarios, and I?m not currently reloading. Have a couple other AR?s in 556, so easier to stack it deep. Someday tho, a 300 is in my plans.
As for the Saint Victor, I think I?m in love. This thing is tight, very very well made, great balance, incredible attention to detail, and is very light and maneuverable. I know Springfield caught some flak from the gun community over the Illinois shenanigans, and rightfully so; but they do make some very nice products. I have considered building my own AR shorty but from what I understand getting the gas right on something this short isn?t easily accomplished. Springfield hit this particular model right out of the yard. Going to take it out and give it a good beating tomorrow, will report back afterwards. But all in all, VERY satisfied with the purchase. 10/10, would buy again
but admittedly, I have sticky fingers when I ?go in for a browse?. Something tells me this thing is going to be a BLAST.
