SP01 Tactical

You can tune it to be just as good as a shadow (albeit a little longer reset) and you get to start at the half cock position (decocked).

Reading the IDPA rulebook section 8.2.1 lists all the things that work, and don't work, in SSP division pistols.

The basic stuff is that the pistol must have over 2,000 produced units, fit the box, and weight 43 oz. or less.

The Shadow 2 is out on weight. The Custom Shop SP-01 Target II might be in if it has enough production units. The stock SP-01 Tactical would be fine.

There are a number of legal modifications, but the intention of the division is for STOCK service pistols. :)

A CZ SP01 Shadow 1 works well for IDPA.  Use it with a cocked and locked start for ESP Division.  Use it with the hammer down and a DA pull start for SSP Division.  It also works well for USPSA.  Use it with a cocked and locked start in USPSA Limited Minor Division.  Use it with the hammer down and a DA pull start for USPSA Production Division.

As for which pistols can be used in which division in IDPA being "up to the Match Director".  This may be true at local, Level 1 matches, but I haven't seen this to be the case at Level 2 or higher matches.  The rules as described in the rule book are fairly easy to understand and typically adhered to at higher level matches.
