Extremely tight mag release and slide release
« on: May 11, 2019, 01:14:29 PM »
Looking at a 2075. I've had my hands on 3 now and all three have extremely tight mag and slide release. I realize most guns loosen up with some use but not all. Anyone had a problem with either or both over the long term?

Mine was tight out of the box. Have shy of 400 rounds now and both work freely.  Really enjoy shooting this pistol.

Do you mean that the slide release is hard to disengage from the slide when the slide is in its rearmost position ? Personally I got out of the habit of releasing the slide with the slide release, I usually just jack the slide back on any auto loader anymore.

Re: the mag release, do you mean that the button is difficult to push in or that the mag does not drop when the release is pushed in ?

My PCR had rubber grips like the RAMI. What it was in my case was that the rubber of the grips was protruding too far into the mag well and thus acting like a brake. I replaced them with aftermarket G10 grips but you could surely check that it out easily enough by loosening the grip screws some and try dropping the mag. If it drops easily then you have the same situation as I described above.

But from reading your post it appears you haven't sprung for a RAMI yet... Go for it, you won't be sorry...One of my favorite CZs that I own and I own a significant number of CZs so that says something.

Good luck with your search.

I've found that everything on both my PCR and RAMI BD has softened up nicely with some range time :-) As far as the magazines "popping" like with many semi auto pistols I don't believe they're supposed to on these CZs. If what I read (may have been here somewhere?) is correct the idea was to prevent them from getting fouled up by requiring the operator to remove them. There is a way to bypass the magazine break if you'd want to. Perhaps one of the more esteemed members can elaborate?

I have fired in the order of 3,000 rounds.  I really like my RAMI, but the slide release, magazine release, and recoil spring are still really tight.  The safety, however, is very light.  I had not mentioned this earlier as I the double action trigger is so good, I seldom use the safety.
I don't know why, but CZ makes it this way.  If I sell it, it will because of this and the thickness makes it harder to carry concealed.  I may keep it for a range gun, however.  I like it that much.  It cannot compete with my Sig 365 got concealed carry.

I only have about 400 rounds through my new rami and I haven't noticed any issue with tight mags, or mag release or slide release.  I have notice that the slide is much harder to rack than any of my other pistols.  I don't don't know if CZ uses a stronger recoil spring then other manufactures or not but it is harder to rack.  My other pistols I can rack with two fingers, with the rami I have to grab a handful of slide to do it.  I doubt that I will ever carry it but I will keep it.  I love the way it shoots and how well it fits my hand.
