Polishing P07

Hello,
I am asking for advice on the best polish, steel wool, sand paper, etc. to use on the inside of my PO7.
Owners often mention polishing links, pins, etc. but do not mention what they use or recommend for the job. Any suggestions are appreciated.

For polishing pins, I use 2000 grit sandpaper to get the initial surfaces smooth, then hit it with my Dremel polishing bits and polishing compound.

 when polishing or sanding any part on the inside of the pistol do not try to remove the factory machine marks that you find. You don't want to remove metal you just want to make smooth.
And don't round off any edges.
You can polish too much and throw off the timing of the mechanisms.
Been there, done that, had to get new parts. We live and learn, do yourself a favor and learn from others mistakes.

When polishing parts that are, and need to stay flat I use some of the very fine paper listed above, and wrap it around a piece scrap marble I picked up from a custom counter top shop.  This provides a solid flat backing that keeps me from rounding edges.  I can lay the marbel on a work bench and run the parts across the ultra fine grit paper.

    I've managed to find a lot of info on this subject here. I will ditto Docs findings too. My P07 needed considerable work and still is not as nice as my wife's P07 is OOB. I've resisted buying parts, but probably will resort to that. The DA has improved significantly, but the SA is still not as nice as I'd like. I believe it's a sear problem, but I can live with it for now. I've heard the SA can be better when converted from decocker to safety operation, but haven't tried it.
    This forum has been a Godsend in giving me the knowledge and confidence to disassemble, and familiarize myself with the inner workings of my pistol. My P07 is a marvelous defensive pistol and still fun to shoot, even though I think it can be better. It has also helped that I've put about 3000 rounds through it.  Keep throwing lead !
