Getting ready to order my CGW DA roller bearing
« on: July 22, 2019, 05:08:58 PM »
So I'm doing this the long way and going piece by piece for the CGW pro upgrade on my P-07.

So far I only have the RP-TRS trigger spring and SPGK79 - Spring Kit and I am now getting ready to order the DA roller bearing..

I was wondering if I would be ok to go ahead and order and also install the 51820 Sear Spring Set with the OEM hammer or do I need to have to GCW hammer to go with the new sear spring? (I know if I switch the hammer I need to sear spring. But if I keep the OEM hammer can I switch the spring anyways?)

The BEST thing to do is talk to CGW - they know their stuff.

You can add a sear spring with any OEM hammer.  People usually install them when they lighten the hammer spring.

Also, try polishing the roller on your gun first.  CGW rollers are larger than all the ones I have had from the factory.  One has helped and two made my trigger stack more.  Again, KNOW your roller size and talk to CGW.

I second the input to give CGW a call. I received suggestions that were specific to my priorities and budget. Dave took the time to talk with me. Very cool, clear guy. Call.

So I ordered my roller bearing friday. Measured mine at .216 ordered the .220 and I also ordered the sear spring kit to get that ready for the CGW hammer later.

Looks like they will get here on Monday and all I really have left is to save up for the short reset kit and their hammer..

But I am also doing a .450 bushmaster pistol build that I want to try and get done for deer season lol

Why do you need a roller bearing?  I am not asking/poking for your sake and condition - you obviously want one.  I am asking for the sake of the folks reading this that think they need to replace the RB.

Even CGW will tell you to polish your roller first, then try theirs.  If you put it on a brass punch and use a dremel felt on it, you can work up a VERY nice even polish.  Why do this?  Because CGW bearings are 'oversize'.  On some guns they work fine and help smooth the pool, and might reduce overtravel.  On others they will increase stacking - sometimes considerably.

Use their short reset and other parts first, apply polishing, and have fun.

I know, because I have taken two P guns with HORRIBLE DA triggers and turned them into excellent triggers.
