IWI Jericho 941's ONLY weak link...
« on: July 15, 2019, 09:06:08 PM »
Struck gold when I found this pistol... all of the ergos and features of the CZ75 design, with a superior single-action trigger and cleaner machine work than any of my CZs.  So, why IWI shod this fine pistol with these clumsy, fat, slippery grips is beyond me.
I tried Hogues, and they provided traction, but may have been even a little thicker than the factory grips.  So, putting function ahead of form, I textured the factory grips with a wood burner.  I've ordered a set of Ridgerunners from Lok, and hear they're thinner, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
Now, I just need to find someone to checker the front and back straps and do some other metalwork... then hard chrome.  I would like a more substantial thumb safety, but no one is making them.

Very very nice Jericho 941!  8)   Congratulations and may it serve you well!  :)

I've always liked the Jericho Pistols handling qualities and consider it an excellent carry/duty Pistol.

Verdict is in. The Lok Ridge Runners are a tenth of an inch narrower than the factory grips, which translates into feeling like half an inch in the hand. (No caliper needed) Disc is it I feel much more like a single stack 1911.

Just resized smaller so that I view the entire photo in frame.

Don't know why the pic of the caliper over the new grips won't display.

Type the "h" after "jpg?" in the link?

Nope!  The "h" goes in just before the ".jpg" in the link.

Very nice looking grips and I like the texture on them!

I really like the looks of the Jericho but I don't get that warm fuzzy ummmmmm feeling from it when I hold it like I do with CZs and Tristars. I assumed it was the grip frame which looks a bit different in geometry than the CZ/Tristar config. maybe it is the grips that are messing it up?

They're fat and slippery.
The trigger blows away any of my CZs or my Tristar.
The grip feels more like a single stack 1911 with these grips.  Definitely feels like much more than a tenth of an inch slimmer.

"h" between the end of the file name and ".jpg"
