Shadow 2 Kit on SP-01
« on: August 10, 2019, 09:06:17 PM »
Has anyone tried the shadow 2  conversion kit on an SP-01 frame?
I have never really like the old conversion kit, and this new one looks good (hopefully)
I'm a Die hard SP-01 so can't give it up but like the idea of being able to shoot 22 through it.

I put a S2 Kadet on a Phantom frame and it was a little too long.  I never fired it, but I erred on the side of safety.  I ended up getting a SP01 Kadet for the Phantom frame and it works well after being broken in.  I ended up having to use the S2 slide stop due to the slide not holding open and generally dragging. You shouldn't see the issues with the slide stop on yours.

I bought the Shadow 2 Kit for my wife's SPO1 and it runs almost flawlessly. She gets a light strike now and then, but pulling back the trigger and firing always sends the round down range. She also sometimes experiences a failure to extract (trying to clear the chamber of a chambered round), but racking the slide several times usually clears up that issue (also cleaning helps this).

Overall, I like the Shadow 2 better than my Kadet II that I run on my 75 Compact due to the full slide cycling back like the 9mm slide. Much easier to get your hands on. An boy are those polymer mags easier to load as well!
