I have a EEA Sar Sark2p pistol which has a raised area above the the grip to the beavertail. After shooting for a period of time the pointed part of this area rubs on my thumb joint creating a sore area. In the CM9 this area has been addressed and doesn't have the is raised area and is smooth around to the beavertail. My question is could this ridge or at least pointed area be Dremeled down to make it smooth without affecting the strength of the frame in that area? Thanks for any input.
I would say Yes, so long as you keep a proper and consistent angle. However, instead of the Dremel, I recommend trying to mildly blend that ridge with 420 wet/dry or some emery board.
Glue some 420 wet/dry to a Paint Stirring Stick or equivalent and work carefully.
That ridge has never bothered me on my SAR K2P and I love shooting it.
