Jericho 941f Factory SAO Trigger?!
« on: September 27, 2019, 10:22:04 AM »
I recently purchased a Jericho 941F 'STAR OF DAVID' in hard chrome. When I got it it had a SAO trigger and came with a black plastic trigger guard/spacer. I ended up converting it to a DA/SA by adding a DA trigger and cocking sear/interrupter (it did not have a cocking sear/interrupter in it at all when I got it but the gun did function). It shoots excellent but the safety is now like a CZ, you have to cock the hammer to actuate the safety lever. Also I did notice a difference in the hammers between these two pistols. The half-cocked stoke length on the steel frame model is shorter than the factory DA hammer on the polymer model. So did the steel frame model come SAO from the factory or was it converted to SAO after the fact? Also if I want to keep it DA/SA but make the safety lever operate without having to cock the hammer at all do I need to change the hammer, the sear, the safety lever, or all 3? Any help is greatly appreciated.

The current crop of Israeli Police Surplus SAO Jericho 941F Pistols were made SAO at the Factory for a specific Israeli Police Contract to ensure that Police adhered to Condition 3 (Mag Full, Chamber Empty) carry restrictions, according to the Importer.

I've not messed too much with Tanfoglio based Pistol Triggers, so I can't help you there, but you might research Tanfoglio Witness SAO Conversions on Youtube.
Also, you might contact Magnum Research for technical direction and Parts.

Ok thanks. I’ll check it out.  I’m kind of on the fence right now about whether to put it back to SAO or keep it SA/DA.

Why would you want to undo a SA only trigger on such a big gun?  You can't carry that much steel concealed inside your belt without pulling your pants down from the weight.  So a range gun doesn't really need a second strike option if a misfire occurs.  It's your gun, but I have just a couple SA clones and they are better triggers than the DA/SA ....though I admit, a couple of the early DA/SA Tanfoglios are a close second.

In the end, our opinions really don't count.  It's what suits you that counts.

I was under the impression that the gun came DA/SA from the factory and was then converted to SAO. I tend to lean toward keeping things mostly original so after a little thinking on it I decided to put it back to SAO since, as far as I can tell, it was ordered that way. It will be the only SAO gun it my collection. I definitely didn’t intend to carry it though. ;D That’s what my P365 is for.
