DEVOID PLUG FOR CZPDW BRACE, Anyone have this when storing a Scorpion?

I just came across a device that plugs into the SB Tactical PDW style brace yoke.  I'm kinda interested in using it as a shape device to retain the shape of the brace and no other reason.  Firing with this installed could be seen as a illegal modification I would think.  I do store my firearms in a safe on the butt end and I think this would help prevent any permanent distortions from storage.

I would stay far far away from this as it COULD be misconstrued as intent....Just a humble mans opinion...

As much as I like the idea, I'm not sure I would do it. It would be just my luck to be seen by some overzealous ATF agent and be viewed as an illegal brace modification.

I do hate the way the rubber ears of the brace curl in and out of shape. There is another product that might help with that, it's called the Splitfix.  It's a replacement velcro strap that has a loop that connects the two rubber ears, keeps them aligned, and supposedly keeps the brace from deforming.  It requires two velcro releases instead of one and doesn't change the operation of the brace as an actual brace, and it has the side benefit of keeping the brace ears from curling in.

I don't think it would could be construed as a modification or work around for an arm brace, but who knows?  The ATF is constantly changing rules. I'm contemplating getting one but haven't decided to make the plunge yet. They are made by Lunar Concepts and come in a variety of colors, for $22.

You've got a better chance of winning the lottery on the same night as Haley's Comet's next pass than being seen by an ATF Agent. I've been in LE for 26 years, and the only one I've seen in person was in 1997 at an Improvised Explosives class. This was during the initial hysteria of the AWB...they didn't care or have time to see if your Post-Ban had a threaded muzzle or bayonet lug. I'd be willing to bet they're not patrolling neighborhoods looking for rubber plugs in braces now.

Hell, I've worked cases involving felons possessing various SBS's, AOW's, etc. while committing crimes, and all my call to the local ATF office got was an "OK, thanks for letting us know...".

There are specific rules about arm braces involving length of pull, etc. Might want to become familiar with them, I'm sure they're on BATFE website somewhere. DO NOT write them and ask. Really, most of these charges are used as "add ons" for folks robbing banks and stuff. Like the man said, no one cares about you at the range.  If you're really concerned, get an honest to gosh stock, efile the form and pay 200 bucks. SBR forms filed that way have been coming back approved in about 2 weeks.

So long as one does not permanently affix the devoid plug in their arm brace I see it as a non-issue. The devoid plug can be popped out in under a second. I look at it as serving the same purpose as a shoe tree, i.e. to maintain the shape while in storage. As for acting as a shoulder stock I just don't see the connection, the devoid plug really adds nothing in that respect (I've got one, it makes zero difference as to how the brace momentarily contacts the shoulder with the exception that the devoid plug maintains the original shape of the arm brace). Just like there's been no one charged with a 'crime' for violating the 922(r) stuff getting charged for re-purposing an arm brace into a stock would most likely be an add-on charge on top of other more serious charges. I'd be much more concerned with posting a utube video of myself shouldering an arm brace as THAT would be good evidence in a criminal case. A plug intended to maintain the shape of a rubber piece while in storage not so much.

It's true the BATFE are not our friends but they won't be rounding up the fleas while letting the elephants get out of the pen.
