Thanks for the update, but it's not for me.  I've waited this long, I can wait a while longer for prices to come down to a reasonable level. There was one company last week advertising the Bren 2 5.56 with 8" barrel for $1650, or about $150 off MSRP, so it won't be long for prices to start coming down once the supply starts increasing.

To be fair, the ones on GB are the military, non-MS, versions like the ones brought in last year, which will probably never be imported again and are therefore collectable.

on the same boat my Brotha, I ain't dropping no $2199 on that regardless if it is a military version or not. That is around $600 extra.

best sale --you are correct.    The several BREN 2S on GunBroker right now more closely mirrors the military version.    The BREN 2 MS ----"M" being modular,  that is supposed to be what is going to come in numbers,  will have the ability to use the standard short hand guard or longer ones (all remaining to be seen)    BREN 2S is "BREN Semi auto" and BREN 2MS is "BREN Modular Semi auto"   The best way to actually see difference right now is go to GunBroker and look at the pictures ---- you will notice the BREN 2S has a one piece upper and a vent cut in front.  Then go to the CZ USA website under the "New" for 2019 and look at BREN picture ----you can tell it has a 2 piece upper receiver and no vent in front.

That does make a difference. Chances are there will never be any more of the military style Bren 2's imported into the US ( I heard that only 300 total had been imported) and for someone looking for one for the collectibility of the pistol, it might be worth considering if that's important to them.  I've seen a couple of the first military style Bren 2's selling for hundreds of dollars more than the asking price here. If they had been in 5.56 I MIGHT have considered them.

I think I'll just continue to hold out for the new Bren 2 Ms when it finally arrives.

The description us 2S vs 2MS. Pictures are of 2S too, which doesn't have a bolt on handguard and has some lightening cuts not on the MS.

My LGS just texted that they secured an 8 inch 5.56mm BREN 2. I'm waiting for an 11 inch 5.56, but I'll try to find out any details on this one just for informational purposes.

The MS pistols are coming in, but slowly. The rifles/carbines haven't even been announced yet.
