P10C poor ejection
« on: October 03, 2019, 10:19:35 PM »
Just a random observation from a previous range visit... I’m used to brass being spit against the divider walls on the lanes but it’s as if this P10c just barely spews casings out of the ejection port.... no issues with feeds or ejections, just something I noticed...

Anything to be concerned about?

Is this normal with a P10c?

It is a gen 2 suppressor ready model...

Round count? Modified? Ammunition? Clean & lubricated?

Stock. Cleaned and lubed, not new, in the 400-600 round count range, I can’t recall the specific ammo used during that session but it has seen everything from 115 124 and 147 factory and reman.

I suppose I’ll have to pay closer attention to the ammo next time. Touché

I’ll be shooting one of my P10Cs in the morning and will pay attention to the ejection pattern.  I’ve got over 4K through this gun and you would think that I’d have noticed that by now, but I don’t recall anything odd about it.  I don’t think it dribbles brass out though.

Assuming it isn't just weak ammo, perhaps look for a polymer rub on the slide.  I had this happen on a P-09, I think.  Remove the slide and take the guide rod/spring out and then put the slide back on the frame and move it to the rear and see if you can feel any roughness.  You may have to turn the gun upside down to get the barrel to go back in to battery without the spring in place.  Or just remove the barrel.  You will have to pull the trigger to get the slide back off with the barrel and/or spring removed.  Trim away any polymer rubs or file off any burrs on the frame insert.
