For me a carry gun has to shoot good groups. Not "good enough". Good.
The most accurate pistol I have it my 9MM P09. But it's too big to carry IWB concealed (yeah, some do, I won't, it's not hidden/concealed well enough and when I sit down in the car/truck the seat pushes the pistol/holster up pretty hard, sometimes pops loose from the belt or really gouges me in the side). I would carry it in a drop leg holster around my property/garage/sheds for cold weather carry. But so far, I haven't. I carry other pistols.
For regular EDC IWB it's my P07 .40. Almost as accurate as the P09 9MM.
I don't have a "pocket pistol." Having carried some magazines in a pocket I've seen what the build up of pocket lint/dust/dirt does to the functioning and I just won't carry a pistol like that.
I've wasted (?) way too much money the last couple of years on pistols. I keep wondering if there's something else out there that shoots like my P07 and P09. So far the XD 5" Tactical .45 doesn't. The M&P 5" FDE 9MM doesn't (even after spending almost the cost of the pistol on Apex parts). The FNS Compact .40 is really smaller than the P07 and feels good to carry IWB around home, but it won't shoot with the P07. The 4" FNS .40's won't shoot with the P07 either. The FNS Long Slide .40 is showing some promise - but again, too big to carry IWB concealed.
The only pistol I've bought, not a CZ, in the last 3 or 4 years that shoots good groups is that little M&P Shield in 9MM. It impressed me. My wife ended up with but I keep fighting the urge to buy one for myself - because I know I'm not going to carry it and with my luck the one I bought (my wife ended up with it) was the only accurate M&P every made. My other full sized M&Ps (all 3 of them) won't shoot with that little Shield.
So, while it's fun (and expensive) to buy/try other pistols, so far it's just teaching me that other brands, that cost similar or even a little more than my CZs just won't shoot with those CZs.
Think of all the reloading supplies I could have bought with that money.
