I spent a couple hours handling and shooting some new Sig pistols and I wanted to see what all the fuss is about the new p365 SAS. For me the only advantage the SAS has over my NRA edition p365 is it is snag free and the recoil may be a bit less. The disadvantage for me and most of the other older shooters I talked with was the sights were almost worthless in low light and nothing in total darkness plus the porting made one heck of a flash. My Rami BD will remain my EDC 90% of the time with my NRA edition p365 filling in the other 10% when I wearing very light weight summer clothing.

I tend to agree with your comments on the SAS sighting system. Guess I’m just old school, preferring bold visible front sight and a plain black rear.

Sig days are fun-specially if you are the last shooter on the last day and the rep doesn’t want to pack up the left over ammo. Thanks for the insight on the sas. I am happy with my regular old 365 but was curious about the sas.

Thanks for posting your feedback on the P365 SAS and the 'new' sights. I was wondering if anything could work better than the X-Ray-3 sights I have now on all my SIGs. Really pleased with them, and they seem to be more durable than the old Sig-Lites.
However, the SAS smoothness looks really nice for deep concealment.

I think my fingers are already too close to the end of the barrel on the 365.  Was there any issue with the barrel ports and your fingertips?
