CZ-P01 Ergos on Striker fired gun
« on: November 24, 2019, 09:46:27 AM »
I went to the range yesterday with my nephew and the neighbor. My neighbor uses a Lock 17. I brought along my CZ P-01 and my Sig P320. My nephew has never fired a handgun before, so we let him use all three guns. He disliked the Glock almost immediately and didn't want to know anything more about it. He then picked up the CZ and loved the ergonomics but was not thrilled with the double action single action trigger. He's looking for a carry gun. He then fired the Sig P320 and wasn't crazy about the ergonomics but loved the trigger.

So the question is is there a Striker Fired gun with the ergonomics of the CZ P-01?

None of the CZ poly frame guns that I've held come even close to feeling like a P- 01

We would be willing to look at it any brand of compact size gun that is Striker Fired and has of the ergos of the CZ 75 series

As usual thanks in advance

My short answer is no, there is not. I too like the trigger on the P-320 as compared to most striker fired pistols, but the ergonomics of a CZ are exceptional. So I compromised by having a customized CZ so the trigger exceeds that of the P-320. I guess I just had to make the sacrifice. (<:)

What did you do to the CZ to get it to your liking?

Get a 75B compact and carry cocked and locked otherwise I don't think anything comes close to CZ ergos in a striker pistol. You might look at the S&W M&P line, they feel pretty good in the hand.

I have a P-01 and prefer the ergo so much that I went back to the OEM rubber grips after trying a pair of aftermarket G10 thin grips.

I also have a striker Taurus G2C and also love how it fits my hand.  The trigger is nothing special, though.

If money wasn't an issue I'd try the H&K P30sk with the LEM v1 trigger.  good ergo and first pull is DA length but lighter pull.  Or a Walther P99cAS (if you can find one):  another striker action with a decocker which has the lauded Walther ergos.

Thanks, I didn't know about the Walther, it might be the answer for my nephew. I will look for one in my area to check out. Being in South Florida there are lots of shops to look.

Looks a lot of people has the same "problem". CZ ergonomics with SIG trigger  ;D

Like BStill mentioned, Walther pistol may be the key - if you look for striker fired.
I loveWalther's pistols, so definitely recommend it  :)

Other option... CZ P-01 Omega - great trigger (like SIG), you can use safety on it so no DA action needed.... 8)

Beretta APX.  Superior ergonomics and a respectable trigger.

if he likes P320 trigger, maybe try the P320X, which has a slightly different grip shape and higher beavertail.  I think it was an attempt to approximate the more classic ergo of a 1911 (?).  Like the P320, it's also a modular chassis with various frame sizes and slide lengths.

My brother briefly had a 320 X- Carry. That grip was the polar opposite of CZ ergos. I think the regular 320C is curvier. Walther P99 is a valid consideration.. Great ergos and very nice trigger for a striker gun. Decocker is a bonus as well as the HK style paddle mag release. Very underrated platform.
