Phantom accuracy?
« on: February 09, 2020, 05:48:40 PM »
Guys, my Shadow 2 is an incredibly accurate pistol and I can handle it better than anything else I’ve tried.  The Phantom physically is similar to the Shadow, but the large weight difference would make it more “doable” for CC.   My question is how does the Phantom stack up on accuracy, and can it be made to shoot close to what the Shadow can do?   My guess would be yes, but does anyone know for sure?  Thanks!

I can't answer directly as I've never owned a shadow, but I did have a Phantom for a while. I'm also not a bullseye shooter.

What I can say is my Phantom was very accurate and handled beautifully. Even with it's relatively light weight for a full sized gun double taps were very manageable. Overall-I miss it some, but it just couldn't come to love it.

Probably not really helpful, but it's all I've got on it. ;)

Never shot a shadow 2.

The phantom shoots very well and the perceived recoil is less than my sp-01 tactical for me. I would say it has something to do with the polymer dissipating vibration.

I have owned an SP-01 (same as Phantom but steel frame), and I have a couple of Shadow 2's. The S2 is noticeably more accurate IMO.

It's not a bullseye gun, but if you're looking to use it for concealed carry, the Phantom is plenty accurate.

I have a CGW 10X bushing in mine and at 7 yards I can just about stack rounds with off the shelf FMJ. I'd imagine at 25 yards it would have no problems at all doing 2.5" or better in a rest with match ammo So...just as accurate as any steel framed CZ easily.

My wife has a Phantom, Shadow 2, and a TSO.  And they all are very accurate.

Since the Shadow 2 and TSO have fiber optic front sights, a fiber optic front was installed on her Phantom as well.  This has been the only modification to the Phantom.

The trigger on the Phantom is not as sweet as the other two pistols, but you can't get that kind of trigger action for as little as the Phantom costs.

If it’s anywhere close to what the Shadow 2 does it would be a winner imho.   I know the longer sight radius is a help for me (vs the smaller pistols).
