CZ Shadow 2 magazines
« on: January 05, 2020, 12:18:38 PM »
Hi guys, a newbie with CZ pistols here so please bear with me. I only own a Scorpion and last night I felled in love with the CZ Shadow 2, I have absolutely no experience with CZ pistols, Im coming from the M&P world. I'm looking to buy one in the next hours but because I live in a state with stupid high cap mag restrictions (Colorado) I need a maximum of 15 rounds mag. I know that when buy it my FLL is going to keep the mags so I am looking to get 15 rounds but I dont seem to find them specific for that particular model. First of, I assume the Shadow is a CZ 75 model right? If not please any Mod move this post to the right area. So, if is a 75, I guess I can just buy CZ 75 mags right? I assume will be full size mags right? I dont compete or anything, just looking for a heavy gun to have fun and the Shadow 2 got me.

sorry for the dumb questions but I guess this happens to any person moving to a different brand of gun.

Thanks in advance.

I could be wrong but the only way to get 15rd mags is to have the 18rd mags pinned! I think there are only the "standard" cap-like 16/18/19rd etc and 10 mrd mags, I'm sure others will chime in and help out. If you don't want to mess with blocking mags then just buy 10rds ones and reload more often,,,, good practice anyway,LOL! Check these places out though. Good luck and let us know how you make out!
I have bought multiple times from these guys,, awesome place and great prices & fair shipping!  https://aerospacearms.com/mec-gar-mag-cz-75-9mm-10rd-bl/
I live in NY so I have bought from these guys also,, another option I guess, but you will have to get an FFL to accept the High Cap Mags and see if he will pin/block them for you, a pain but at least an option.

Those will run a Shadow 2.  Sorry 'bout that infringement in your state.

perfect thanks!

funny, is kind of hard buying new guns but for existing's... here you kick a tree and a Pmag 30 falls. By the way, the Shadow 2 was made in which year? maybe I can "grandfather" the mags, hoping CZ didnt put dates on them ;-)

I was going to pull the trigger and buy them when I read in the specifications: For CZ 75 Compact, it should work? the Shadow is not full size?

Compact mags will be too short to lock into a full size CZ like a Shadow 2.  It may be worth while to confer with your FFL about obtaining the correct mags.

I am unclear on Colorado firearms laws. In California we have a 10 round mag limit. Here you can find an FFL with a High Capacity Magazine Permit (Law Enforcement do not have these limits so they need a place to shop for mags). This FFL can then receive and block the mag to the necessary round limit. Then you can pick them up. This allows one to get the starting mags they want and have them made legal.

Gratz on your CZ Shadow2.
Will work for CZ pics! (including but not limited to all CZ clones)

I purchased the Shadow 2 yesterday and my FFL called me that got it today!! ( didnt realized that the online store I used is in Colorado too) Im so excited, going to pick it up tomorrow. So, in resume for my post, CZ 75 mags works for the Shadow 2, and I wonder, other parts too? like if I get a CZ 75 threaded barrel will work on my Shadow 2?
