Cz SP-01 Shoulder Holster (or any full size CZ).
« on: December 15, 2020, 02:08:21 PM »
Anyone of Medium/Large stature have any luck using a shoulder holster with your full size CZ pistol?

I’m 5’10”, 195lbs, work out some but also have a small belly. (Just for reference, my target healthy weight is 180lbs and I hold most of my chub in my belly). I have to say, the shape of my body makes it hard to conceal large guns around my waist. I have a Shield in 9mm that I have found holsters that work for CCW. As for my SP01, I have not found any holders that will hide it, not even a shoulder holster under a thin jacket.

Has anyone had success with a shoulder holster and a full size gun?  The holsters I have tried, horizontal pokes out the back and vertical is obvious my left side is bigger than the right.

Sometimes I would like the option of more than 8 or 9 rounds. My other thought was just purchase a P01.

I guess no one on this forum has had any luck with a shoulder holster and a full size double stack 9mm.

Guess I will stick with my Shield unlit I can buy a P01. I did find a great low profile shoulder holster for the Shield. It hides under most of my light jackets and button shirts. It is not designed with a magazine pouch but I figured out how to attach one I already had.

For those who have been reading this, I just bought a Bianchi X15 Shoulder Holster. Should be here by the 28th. I will do a short review after I have had it a while.

The nice thing about the size I got, it will fit my SP01, 97B, and it should also fit my S&W M69 4”.  (For thus not familiar the M69 Combat Magnum is a five shot L-frame 44 magnum. One of my favorite guns.)

Kangaroo Carry Air Marshal 3 for a 75B. Very comfortable, and accessible while seated or driving.

The X15 sounded like a good option to me as well. I have the SP-01 Tactical. However, it does not fit (the gun or me). The full length frame prevents the gun from seating all the way into the holster without jamming it in. At which point it can no longer be drawn. There is only a single adjustment on the elastic band to fit it to your body, which was inadequate in my case. You may think that you can unlace some of the main strap to adjust placement fore and aft, but then the strap can just pull out. The snap loop for your belt won't reach your belt unless you pull your pants up around your nipples (not a good look). With the belt loop in place, the butt sticks way out, without it in place, the muzzle sticks way out. Just not a good design. I will be returning mine. Hope you have better luck.

The CZ-75 SP-02 wasn’t made for concealed carry in my view.  It’s a tactical pistol and enormous for that reason.  I have one but it’s for the truck or home.  For carry, I use my CZ-75 D PCR.

I noticed when looking at the X15 that there aren't any thorough reviews of it on Youtube. So, before returning it, I made a review and posted it to Youtube. Don't be too harsh if you watch it; it's my first video. Anyway, if you want to see how it works with an SP-01 Tactical, check out my video:

Under a light jacket the holster worked very well. Perfect for my needs.

Probably not what you're looking for, but I'm intrigued by Blackhawk Tactical's Outback Holsters that place the gun on your chest.  Appears to meet my needs working around our acreage and seems more secure than a belt-mounted weapon when cutting brush and such...  Since holsters are unlikely to be targeted by gunbanners, it's on the backburner for the moment.

Have ordered a few shoulder mounted holsters, and didn't really care for any.

SP01 is an available model option.

I do have an old Black Nylon Vertical Shoulder Holster Rig made for the Cz75, but it also accommodates some other Pistols.
I doubt that it is made or imported anymore and it has never occurred to me to try my Cz SP01 in it.
I tend to gravitate towards more Mid-Sized Pistols for Concealed Carry, these days.
