...just to toss this out there since it's related to the +P+ ammo topic. In the "Ammo Questions" section of this forum there's a "what types of ammo are safe in my CZ" sticky. It's an interesting read, reinforces the idea that there's a vast spectrum of pressures that can fall into that category.

your extra power springs mean the slide comes forward at increased speed when it slams into battery. ever wonder how people break the slide stop?
Valid point, eastman; good thing it's a carry-only combination, with virtually zero actual usage wherein fatigue-inducing stresses (above the slide stop's endurance limit) might be encountered.
I don't recommend this Punching Above Weight carry combo (Underwood Xtreme Defender +P+ carry only ammo, fully balanced by heavy duty (DPM Systems Technologies inner, Wolff Kimber Ultra outer carry-only springpack) for everyday target practice!!! Its utility lies in the carry-only industry-best muzzle energy, permanent wound channel extent and penetration capabilities that of course rely on placement for efficacy.
Once more my gratitude to charlestheforth (you da man!) for identifying the missing ingredient to DPM's RAMI springpack offering. And to huskerlrrp for the Break Free CLP sample, whose dry EP CoF tops the heap!

Once again, in that you may not have come across it in prior posts, cousinmark; I'm not a reloader but I've disassembled just about every one of the copper bullet offerings out there, as well as a good sampling of the popular lead bullet loads, with my Frankford Arsenal impact hammer and observed substantial variation in powder quantity within production batches in all but Kevin Underwood's stellar products. His advertised muzzle velocity pushes the envelope but I've come to trust his company's quality control over all other brands, and thus his ammo, for the unlikely but critical potential life-saving exigency.
Variation in casing discharge distance is something I've only recently thought of documenting, but dollars to donuts my Underwood +P+ ammo will exhibit less variability than my target ammo, Speer's top-drawer Lawman. Stay tuned.

Hey Pappa,

... Just want to clarify, that last comment about the sticky in the ammo section WASN'T directed towards you. More for the "general public" that may be following this thread. I'm new here but have noticed that there's a good number of less experienced shooters that come here looking for advise. That being the case I think it should be emphasized that +P+ ammo ISN'T recommended for use by CZ. You obviously know what you're getting into but MANY owners aren't quite at your level and are probably better off just using standard pressure factory ammo.

I have been reading on other forums to use the 40 cal spring for the rami in the 9mm pistol and from what I can make of it is they will last over 2,000 rounds before needing to be replaced , with out any problems. Y’all’s thoughts?
