...just to toss this out there since it's related to the +P+ ammo topic. In the "Ammo Questions" section of this forum there's a "what types of ammo are safe in my CZ" sticky. It's an interesting read, reinforces the idea that there's a vast spectrum of pressures that can fall into that category.
Once again, in that you may not have come across it in prior posts, cousinmark; I'm not a reloader but I've disassembled just about every one of the copper bullet offerings out there, as well as a good sampling of the popular lead bullet loads, with my
Frankford Arsenal impact hammer and observed substantial variation in powder quantity within production batches in all
but Kevin Underwood's stellar products. His advertised muzzle velocity pushes the envelope but I've come to trust his company's quality control over all other brands, and thus his ammo, for the unlikely but critical potential life-saving exigency.
Variation in casing discharge distance is something I've only recently thought of documenting, but dollars to donuts my Underwood +P+ ammo will exhibit less variability than my target ammo, Speer's top-drawer Lawman. Stay tuned.
