Just checked mine with a new unsharpened (😀) pencil.  It tossed the pencil up and  out of the bbl about an "extra" half pencil length.

It just sunk in when I reread your posts.  You "reprofiled your hammer".  What did you change?

1SOW:

Which Ext firing pin do you use? CZC or CGW?

Thanks!

Mine is the one that came with the 75 Shadow,  CZC
My 75b also has the CZC because I got it before CGW went into business.  My B has a 13# spring with 2+ coils cut off.  Their wasn't a CGW to buy the lighter springs.

No no, I was asking if I could reprofile a Shadow hammer to fit the CZ 75B. I've only polished the face of my hammer. My hammer STRUT on the otherhand, I have filed until it's completely flat on all four sides, polished to a mirror, and rounded off the edges. If anything that should make the hammer smoother and thus strike harder.

Unless you're not talking about me.  :-[

Put the 8.5# spring back in to test with the pencil and report results, couldn't find a pencil, used a hot glue stick instead (5" long, bout .330 diameter. Weighs about as much as a pencil.) Pointed straight up, it cleared the barrel, made it about 6" up in the air past the barrel.

I am long winded. Ask me what my favorite gun is, I'll write you a novel. Hell, I have trouble deciding what gun to grab for when the dogs bark at night :o.

Can't compare with a glue stick,  but "sounds" like a good strike :-\  Many here have used the pencil test to compare.  Pencils are inexpensive. O0 :)

Re the Shadow hammer in a B.  Sorry I misunderstood.  That's what I use and bought from CGW.  CGW thinned the Shadow hammer to fit the B and it has worked perfectly.  No camming back and a good crisp drop.  I don't know how the stock hammer functions with the light 8# spring..

Yeah, all of a sudden every pencil in my house is just, poof, gone.

Does your safety turn on with the hammer down? that's what I was wondering when I made that post.

Apparently it performs piss poorly, according to my tests currently.

8.5# spring, extended FP, reduced FPS, reduced TRS and federal primers I get 100% reliability. All CGW parts in a Shadow Custom. Now, change that to CCI, I get lite strikes 2 out if 10 rounds.

As good as CGW is, their 8.5# main, even with an extended firing pin and RPFPS will not reliably ignite all primers, except Federal, Match or Champion, doesn’t matter.  However, there is a spring from the EU that will set off everything.  Tested it today, will video some follow up shortly.  In the meantime..
