75D compact
« on: January 29, 2020, 06:44:51 PM »
I picked up a used 75D Compact at a local shop today. I've only ever owned the Canik version imported by Tristar before so I was happy to pick this up.
It is a Century Arms import. I assume it is probably from Israel, though there is no other mark on it I can see. Did Century import these from any other countries or, are they all from Israel? The date on it is 05. It is very clean. It has black rubber grips that show wear. I plan to replace them, just not sure what I'll get yet.
They are sweet, well made guns. I'm looking forward to getting out and shoot this.
I've found that growing up in the sixties was a lot more fun than being in my sixties.

I can't think of seeing one from Israel without a menorah stamp on the slide.

If it has a lanyard loop attached to the left side of the mainspring plug pin, it is probably Israeli.

You are not wrong.. Canik is a Turkish product.

Century Arm Imports has been having multiple Israeli firearms on stock, but they are IMI (Israel Military Industries).

Double Tap, sorry if I was unclear. I've owned the Turkish made Canik copy of this gun before and loved it. It's nice to have the real thing made by CZ now.
Looking online at model differences, I assume this is a P-01. It has the rear sight on the P-01 and the rail under the dust cover.
Mine does not have a lanyard loop.
It's well used but not abused. The frame is in Urban Gray, It may be a re-finish job. The lettering on the frame is covered by the finish but it looks like the CAI stamp was put on after the re-finish because it is sharp.
The gun has a very nice balance and fits my hand perfectly. I know I'm going to enjoy this pistol. CZ quality is hard to beat.

Eagle-eye, I'm sure your 75D Compact is Israeli.  I got one a year or so ago, also imported by Century.

 :o
I'm confused now. Was this 75D Compact actually made in Israeli, or made for Israeli market?
I've never heard about Israeli's CZ factory... ::)

These are Czech made pistols from the CZ factory that were sold to Israel as part of military contract years and have been retired and sold now in the secondary market.

Thx.
Do they have any special marks on frame or slide that indicate they were used by Israeli Military? It's quite interesting.

I have seen some that do and some that do not. Most notably I've seen them with the Menorah roll mark on the slide as some one else mentioned above.
