I can only speak for myself, and from my own experience.
I wouldn't mind seeing it, and seeing what it could do. I would be surprised if it supplanted my .17HMR fleet. I have killed everything in my AO with .17HMR very effectively - mostly coyote and badger for larger varmints. I generally shoot high volume gopher/ varmint when I shoot, so the probability of this new round making economical sense is pretty low for me. Once a cartridge gets significantly more expensive than .17HMR, I am into where I can reload my .223 with a 40 gr vmax at around 3300 fps. This is extremely effective load on all critters, and my go to when something is beyond the reach of the HMR.
I'm all for development, but for me, it's a solution to a problem I don't have.
