P10f mags not dropping free.
« on: April 01, 2020, 04:59:44 PM »
Anyone else have this issue? Not a huge deal, but i shoot idpa and have a couple that dont want to drop out like my p10c. Was just gonna sand inside the magwell to make them drop easier.

Original mags?
I believe sanding mag release button (inside), not magwell will help.

Also ,1500 or 2000 grit sandpaper. Slightly rubdown the magazines and then polish.
I do this with all my magazines anyway no matter the pistol.

Any updates ? I have two P10f's made in Czech Rep brand new unfired due to COVID-19 and have a similar problem, when depressing the mag release the mag 'pops' down out of place maybe 10mm or less then doesn't move unless stripped by hand, I have polished the mag's they new ex factory ones, could it be the mag release mechanism ? or more polishing of the externals of the mag body ? I will try my well used P09 mags and update.

it seems to me that your mag is releasing , the problem is it won't drop free.
Sand the sharp edges on the inside of the mag release,  use 1500 or 2000 grit and sand the inside of the intire Magwell.
Using the same fine grit paper sand down your mags again and polish them well.
If that doesn't fix the problem then take the slide off the pistol ,  pop a mag up in there then look from the top when you release the mag. Do this several times and see if there are any scratches on the magazine from the mag release.
Make sure you buff them like Chrome.
I've done this with my PO 9 and the mags can't jump out of the Magwell fast enough.

Re-move your slide so you can see what the mag is rubbing on.
