P01 Omega trigger bar spring tweak
« on: April 24, 2020, 02:00:47 PM »
I know on the P07, the trigger bar spring tension can be reduced by bending it slightly downward resulting in a lighter, smooter DA pull. Can the same be done to the PO1 Omega since it's basically the same setup?

Yes - but the impact may be minimal.  If your action is already smooth and without much stacking you will notice a difference.  If is is FULL of stacking - nothing but a ton of work is going to change that.

briang2ad gets a few good posts about Omega trigger. I recommend to search and read.

In my case, smooth DA pull at P-01 Omega came after lowering weight of hammer spring, changing DA roller and using Reduced Power Trigger Return Spring.
And of course - smoothing and polishing components is a must.

Either i got a good one or I’m just not as picky as you guys. The DA in mine is pretty good stock. I do have CGW springs on the way though. Might as well make it even better.

Yeah, P-01 Omega is not bad out of the box... but whoever enjoyed 1911 before, would be always looking for better trigger.
My very first handgun was PPQ and none of my CZs with CGW parts have trigger close to Walther's.  :'(

The point is that the Omega is all over the map.  You CAN land one OTB and it might be smooth and consistent, or you can get one that NO normal amount of polishing will help at all.  Then you have to mod parts.

My P-09s DA felt like one of those heavy duty silver staplers when i got it. Stack, stack, stack, stack, Clank! After installing all of the CGW parts, polishing and some break in, it is getting there. Now it feels like a nice office stapler.  ;D
Will work for CZ pics! (including but not limited to all CZ clones)
