How to remove firing pin from SP01 Kadet Kit
« on: July 01, 2020, 07:23:59 PM »
All,
I'm a pretty fair shooter...but my gunsmithing skills are novice...what are the steps to remove/replace the firing pin on an SP01 Kadet kit?  I was having lots of problems with light hits...though maybe taking the fp out and cleaning things up and trying the "new" style firing pin might help....

Any pics/videos are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
ML

Everything I've seen says this should be relatively easy...carefully remove the firing pin retaining clip by pushing in the fp, slide clip out, and firing pin and spring can then be removed...but I can get the clip to wiggle a little...maybe even down a very small amount...but it won't budge further...am I missing something really obvious?

Judging by the way the S2 Kadet is built, firing pin on SP01 Kadet (with alu slide) is retained by pin like 75B. FP ,,retaining''plate serves more like thingy that helps kit to not wear out too fast. Also, full metal Kadet or Kadet 2 FP wouldn't work. Completely different animals. https://www.czub.cz/en/firearms-and-products-product/adapter-cz-75-sp-01-kadet  See the pin just in front of rear sight?

Before you go to the trouble of removing the firing pin, what weight hammer spring is in your SP01?  If it is lighter than the factory spring, that could be the reason for the light hits and misfires.  If you have the factory hammer spring in the frame, then carry on with removing the firing pin and cleaning the channel.

Just a thought. Try your SP01 Kadet on SP01 like frame (with full lenght rails) and see, that problem still exists. czub site states, that SP01 kit can be used on SP01 frames, https://eshop.czub.cz/en/adapter-cz-75-sp-01-kadet.html meaning Shadow, SP01 and SP01 Tactical. My friends S2 Kadet kit (basically same sht as SP01 kit) works 100% using 11lbs main spring, using CCI and SB ammo.
Strangely same page says https://www.czub.cz/en/firearms-and-products-product/adapter-cz-75-sp-01-kadet  that same kit can be used with shorter rails frames also. Something got lost in translation.

I'll try that Andreas...just thought since I bought it as a unit from CZC that it should shoot as a unit...but I will definitely give it a try.
