I got a new Teslong borescope a couple of weeks ago and posted some results for my P-09 and P-10 pistols in the polymer forum. Next I got my 97B"E" bullseye pistol out for the first time in a year and a half and borescoped that barrel, then tried to get every bit of copper and carbon out, but quit before it was clean
when viewed with a borescope. It was cleaner than I had ever tried to get it when I shot bullseye matches with it, however. I don't think I have shot anything but 185 gr JHP bullets in this pistol. Maybe a few FMJ, but always jacketed.
So I decided to go to the local outdoor range and shoot it at 50 yards and then at 100 and just see if the accuracy was still there. Next, I put together a before and after range trip video of the barrel bore, just document at least for myself, what a typical .45 pistol bore can look like and still shoot well.
https://youtu.be/rPOILsZBF7cThese aren't the best groups I've shot with this pistol, I am out of practice shooting from a rest on a bench at this altitude, and I am certainly out of practice with this pistol, so cut me some slack here. But the borescope views are something new and interesting to me. My first thought after viewing this bore after the 9mm pistols was "here we go again, I am a barrel abuser and this gun probably won't shoot well any longer". Summary--the 9's were fine, the .45 is fine, in spite of carbon and copper still in the bores.
