Attaching SB Tactical Arm Brace
« on: August 10, 2020, 11:00:34 PM »
Just received EVO 3 S1 with an arm brace. Two videos watched made it seem easy to slide the brace onto the "slot" and over the detent button. I am ~ .5" above the button and the brace won't budge in either direction. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Are the two set screws out of the brace adapter? They would definitely hang you up.

I have to use a rubber mallet on mine.

I initially took an oil soaked Q-tip and oiled the vertical grooves on the receiver and then oiled the mating parts on the brace mount. I then had to use a rubber mallet to persuade the brace onto the receiver to the top of the button. Depressed the button and continued to drive the brace on. Took the brace off and reinstalled it a couple times and it goes on a little easier now. Scorpion receivers are known to have some dimensional variation from one receiver to another. Grip mounting surfaces are another area where they seem to vary quite a bit.

Make sure the set screw on the left side of the block is backed out.

CZ built new molds about a year ago for the receiver halves and the fitment of stocks and arm braces is now much tighter.

Thanks, got it on with the help of a rubber mallet. The set screw and hex key were in a separate bag. So, nothing to back off.

When I got my S2 I thought I'd put the folding brace on just to see what it looked like.

I used a little CLP on the mating surfaces, and a rubber mallet too.

Took it back off as soon as I put it on. Had a Manticore sliding stock to make it a SBR on the way.
