CZ P10C - First Impressions
« on: July 20, 2020, 08:06:59 PM »
I picked up a new CZ P10C a couple of weeks back that came with a threaded barrel,  night sights and two 15 round mags with the +2 baseplate extensions. I’ve heard good reviews about this pistol and after holding it for the first time I was sold on it. I’ve carried Glocks for the last 22 years in 40 and 45 caliber models, I wish they had a similar style grip.

Fired 100 rounds through it from 10 yards and had a fairly tight group from the get-go. The pistol shoots very smooth and did so without any mechanical malfunctions. My only concern was that my groupings were about 2 inches low from point of aim. To hit the center of the target I had to aim above it about 2 inches.

I’ve searched the forum here and found several threads addressing my concern. I must say, there is a wealth of knowledge here and I learned quite a bit in my short time being a member. The solution that makes the most sense to me is to change out the front sight for a shorter one. I may even replace the front and rear sights with a set from Dawson Precision, something about that “Perfect Impact Guarantee” that has my interest.

Is there a better set of sights I should be looking at or does anyone have any experience with Dawson? Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks

I don’t have suppressor ready.  What sights does it come with?

That’s a great question! The only markings on the front sight and they are located on the front of the front sight is what appears to be a 2s or a 25. I’m thinking it’s a 2s as the second character appears to be a lower case s. The rear is marked H3. I’m searching now to see if I can find anything about those numbers.

I have a stock 10c.  I have a “2” front sight and a H3 rear.  This 10c is NOT suppressor ready

H 3 indicates tritium, not a size.

^^My pleasures!

BTW- I have a strong preference for metal, hammer fired guns with manual thumb safety. NONE of which apply to my P 10c.

HOWEVER the bleeped gun is a joy to shoot, makes me look better than I am at the range, and does it effortlessly. ;)

It would piss me off if the thing didn’t seem like it was designed and made specifically for me.

Funny thing is, I’ve talked with several other guys who’ve expressed the same sentiment.

If it suits you-you’re probably going to love this gun.

I don't have a P-10C handy with the factory sight cuts, mine is an Optics Ready model, but the sight radius is about 5.7", so a 2" correction would require you to remove about .032" from the top of the front sight.  I've done that with a file on factory sights before, then take a blueing pen or marks a lot and cover over the filed area.  If you screw up, you can still buy a new sight.  If you don't screw up, you might not have to buy a new sight.
