Full length metal guide rod
« on: August 24, 2020, 10:53:11 AM »
Is there any advantage to the SS full length guide rods? I noticed that both of my Custom Shop guns have them, yet my Sp01 tac, Sp01, P01, and PCR all have nylon guide rods. All the nylon rods are bent and twisted. Should I put SS guide rods in them? 100 bucks would do all 5. Any reason not to? Thanks in advance...

Stainless steel guide rods doesn’t bend as easily as the nylon rods so that’s a huge adavantage. It’s also heavier and helps in the balance of the gun and might reduce felt recoil
due to being heavier on the front of the gun.

All my competition pistols have a stainless steel guide rod with the exception of my Sig X5 which has a tungsten guide rod.

Other than weight it's just a personal preference IMO.  Have one in my carry and my Spo1 Shadow but do not have one in my 5 other CZ's.  The bent up Delron guide rods work fine and don't add the weight.

Although some have had problem with wear in guns with allow frames that doesn't even appear to be a big problem. IE my carry is allow and shows no wear on the alloy meeting the stainless area.
When did it change from "We the people" to "screw the people"?

Why use 911 when it's faster to use 1911 or 9mm?

I have SS and plastic and not sure I can tell the difference  LOL  (but I and old and a good day is if I wake up).  I put then in my competition guns (USPSA) but doubt if it makes much difference BUT if I think it makes my faster then it probably I am.
If I had known how much better being retired is than working I would have done it FIRST.
