Couldn't pass a deal on a S&W 19-4 2 1/2"
« on: September 22, 2020, 04:12:44 PM »
A good friend just bought a collection of vintage S&W revolvers all but one were pre 1980's 4" and 6" guns. The one gun in the collection he didn't want was a 2 1/2" blue 19-4  He knew I wanted one so he offered it to me and I couldn't say no. At $700 I my have over paid a bit but I don't care it's a extra nice revolver and I'm going to enjoy shooting the snot out of it.

That's a fair or better price depending on condition. I have a factory nickle 19-4 2 1/2 inch that gets it's share or range and carry time.

If the finish is 85% or better and the action is sound then $700 is actually a very good deal for that gun. I'd have grabbed it myself at that price. I have a pair of model 19 2-1/2 inchers that I'll never part with.

A -4 would make it manufactured between 77 and 82. Which also means its the last of the pinned and recessed era of K frames.

I'm no expert on value; but to me $700 sounds like an AWESOME find. I'm certainly jealous. Love it and enjoy it!

My first revolver was a 19-3 which I foolishly let get away from me.

I wish I could figure out how to post a photo I would say the finish is 98% just a very faint turn line on the cylinder.  Also it's missing the factory grips and the box is marked model 66 4" but over all it's a very nice gun and will be a shooter.
