First 22 Rifle

So, title is not totally true. I have a Noble 22 that my uncle gave me when I was a kid. It works, but the trigger is horrible. So, I was looking at getting a nicer 22 for myself and the family to enjoy. First choice is of course a new CZ. Was looking at models and not sure what to get. Kind of want to keep the price down, but do want to stick with a wood stock. I also got an email from Classic Firearms this morning on the Beretta Olympia. That looks like a cool rifle, but for a little bit more money, I can have a new CZ through the LE/MIL program.

So, what are yalls suggestions with the CZ models? Main use will be target. Maybe could be used for small gave later when my boys get older. The 457 American 22/17HMR combo looks like a fun option.

  I think you're on the right track with an 457 American. If it's something you may be carrying around hunting I'd stick with something like that instead of one of the heavy barrel models.

i would look at how you want to use the rifle and what accessories you may want to use in the future.

i think for the most part, the CZs for the "USA market" dont have iron sights.   So you will need to scope them unless you want a "point n shoot" gun :-).

I own a 452 American and a 455 American in 22LR, both beautiful and accurate rifles.  I am looking at a 457 Premium in part because it has iron sights and a threaded muzzle for my 22 suppressor which currently I can only mount on my 22 Buckmark pistol.  Plus I think the 457 Premium is a sharp looking weapon!

If you want irons instead of glass for sighting, the 457 Jaguar is one to look at. A friend got one a couple of weeks ago and it is a great handling rifle.
