Rami slide locks-only retracts while pointed up.
« on: March 30, 2021, 02:41:30 PM »
Having issues with a new to me Rami. When mag is out, pull slide back, and it locks into place. All good, but the only way it’ll actually retract is if I point the barrel up, then I’m able to retract.

Also, when pointed up, the barrel does seem to shift a bit...normal behavior? I’m thinking I have an issue with my spring, but want to check here.

If needed, I can upload a video later.

Slide shouldn't automatically lock back when there is no magazine in the gun.  It should only automatically lock back when there is an empty magazine inserted.

There is a slide stop/release on the left side that you need to push down to release the slide forward (if locked back).  Or you should be able to pull the slide back and release it (when the empty magazine is clear from the gun).

You can manually lock the slide back by thumbing the slide stop lever up when pulling the slide back.

The barrel should be very loose when the slide is pulled back.  The only time the barrel should be tight is when the slide is forward and the barrel is fully locked up in battery.

If this is your first pistol (CZ or other) I'd highly recommend some basic training to understand the in's and out's of your firearm!

Cheers,
Toby

Thanks Toby. Seems I have a warranty claim with CZ coming up then. I’m familiar with pistols, but a gunsmith also said he talked to CZ and they said the tricky slide was a “feature.”

Clearly something is up, given the pistol is locking with no mag.
