P10C trigger pins back???
« on: January 27, 2021, 03:35:14 PM »
Folks,
Please forgive me if this is a stupid question.  I own a Sig and a S&W striker fired pistol which don't behave as I'm about to explain, but I literally just left the FFL with my P10c and I need to know if this is normal.

When I rack the slide, I can pull the trigger and the striker fires just like normal.  But, the trigger stays pinned to the rear and doesn't pop back forward.  I can go through that same process, pin the trigger back and then rack the slide and it will then reset and allow for the next trigger pull.

Is that normal?

The slide resets the trigger.

Yes, the slide resets the trigger.

But, I've never handled a gun (striker or hammer) where the trigger stays pinned back after going bang.  I understand that in a live fire situation the slide will always actuate after a shot and thereby reset the trigger.  It just feels weird to dry fire and have the trigger stay stuck back.

So, it sounds like this is normal then.

Ok.
Thanks, everyone.
I was watching a trigger video and can see that this is normal for the p10 series.  It was just very weird for me at first.

Glocks and Ruger SR series are the same way. But you will find they are very nice triggers when shooting at the range.
I've found that growing up in the sixties was a lot more fun than being in my sixties.

For dryfire practice I just work the pre-travel without pressing past the wall. I've also used a zip tie to hold the slide back slightly. Seems to work better for Glocks than my P10.
I just now found this video on YT - a better solution. . .
