Pulled the trigger on the Rami today
« on: January 16, 2021, 09:35:22 PM »
I bought a 75 Tac about a month ago and fell in love with CZ. Putting the CGW pro package in now. I went to an indoor range a couple weeks ago and saw they had a Rami and really liked the feel of it. Over the course of 2 weeks I decided I need to move on from my Ruger SR9s so I went in today and bought it. Loaded two very stiff magazines and started with the 14 round. Third shot in and it failed to load. I reloaded the extended mag and let it sit a while and shot with the smaller one. This thing is a Tac driver for a gun of its size! I emptied the extended mag and loaded it with seven rounds, all fired without a problem and it was smooth sailing after that. It came bone dry so I’m excited to shoot it properly lubed. Very happy with it after making some quick adjustments at the range.

Congratulations.  Very good decision.  Looking at RAMIs myself.  Have seen several at the range and they like all CZs make the shooter look better than they are.

So what’s the first upgrade I should do lol. Looked at stainless guide rod and recoil spring but it’s pretty expensive and I wonder if it’s worth it. Thinking about the CGW ultra light kit for sure. Not gonna go all out with the pro package on this one.

I am kind of conservative on this type of pistol.  Assume that this will be more of a defensive/carry firearm rather than a range toy.  Think I would fire a few hundred rounds and then decide.  Before I fired a single round I would get a snap cap and dry fire DA for 500 reps, before cleaning or lubing the gun.  Many of my defensive pistols that started with substandard trigger pulls cleaned up so good that to this day I have never touched them.

For me I would be most concerned about sights and grip before I went to work on the trigger.  The stock sights are not designed for older eyes and standard grips usually are not grippy enough for me.  LOK Grips are almost always my go to, and Dawson gets way too much of my paycheck.

Just my recommendations.  Wish you the best with your project.

Just got the down payment & paperwork done today. In 10 days I'll be taking your suggestion about running lots of snap caps for quite awhile. Never would have thought of that on my own. Thanks. My first CZ. Super Stoked!!

I like the snap cap idea for trigger smoothing. Will also help get your grip and pull stable while you smooth things out :D
