$90 CZ83 mags in .32 Gunbroker
« on: August 21, 2020, 03:42:08 PM »
If you don't mind paying through the nose there is a guy about to post some .32 mags on GB for $90 each.

He only had 3 so he might have sold them as I don't see an ad as of 8/22.

Why use 911 when it's faster to use 1911 or 9mm?

Did CZ USA stop selling the CZ 83 magazines in 32 ACP?  When I bought mine about 3 years ago there were ample magazines available from the CZ.  My gun came with one and then I bought 5 more and then for additional ones.  I keep 3 loaded and rotate them every 6 months with another 3.  The additional 4 are for range shooting but since I do not shoot the pistol that often they are still in their packaging.

Have not seen any let alone reasonable priced ones for many years so even the $90 for new ones ends up being OK if you need one.  Gonna sell me one?????  ;-)

Sorry Larry but I keep 10 mags for all of my firearms.  I keep you in mind if I decide to part with any.  I bought my CZ 83 in Feb. 2016 and bought the mags that year.  At that time CZ USA was still selling them.

CZ-USA was still selling them as of last year. They stopped fairly recently. It used to be every time I needed a small part or two, I'd add in a CZ 83 mag (9mmMak/.380 or 7.65) or a TacSport mag.

Thanks for the reply and information Eastman.  I believe the CZ 83 was discontinued in 2013 and I remember seeing if I am not mistaken the magazine still being sold by CZ in 2018 and thus I thought CZ would continue to support this pistol with accessories for an extended period.  Obviously I was incorrect in my estimation.  It is a shame that CZ discontinued support for this pistol by not selling the magazines since the so many of us who think it is a great firearm.

I thought the 32 mags where gone sooner than that.

I found my e-mail receipts for the magazines that I bought for my CZ 83, 32 ACP from CZ USA.  I bought 5 magazines in February 2016 and then an additional 4 in October 2017.  CZ USA website states that the CZ 83 9 mm Browning was discontinued in 2012.  I assume the 32 ACP model was discontinued in the same year but I am not sure.  So there was apparently 5 years of support through 2017.   I thought CZ would continue to support the item but that is an error on my part.  I am glad I bought additional magazines.

A few years ago while chatting with the personnel at the Prague store, it was mentioned that the factory would retain whatever was needed to make the pistols again in the future for whatever reason. I seem to recall there was a special run for a US client (don’t remember which caliber) a few years later that had a large order. Mostly, they have been selling what’s been left in inventory over the years and CZUB is not in the magazine making business having contracted that out to MecGar. Just have to accept that these pistols and any support are part of CZUB history.

My .32 just arrived at my FFL.  Still have my 83 in 380. Happens to be just 1 of 2 selling regrets over the years which isn't bad for doing a lot of buying and/or selling.  The other was a 25th anniversary when I needed the money and they where pretty much still available at the time.  Got $600 and now IF you can find one at all they are double that ;-(

I also have 4 or 5 modified looking mags that work fine in my CZ 83.32 ACP that I would sell for $50/ea.

Are these available with any level of ease in Europe? Why won't someone import a few cases? It seems rather silly at this point. If the body is the only part different, you'd think it would be simple to import just the bodies?

I missed something. Who said the European bodies were different?
