Steve--looks great! Glad you are enjoying your 97.
I'm using a 135 PF load but I think I have an 18 lb recoil spring in mine, but I'm not timing followup shots or anything like that, so I tend to run as stiff a recoil spring as I can and still eject OK, which is 3 or 4 feet. It's good for lockup consistency but would probably make the muzzle dip too low for rapid followup shots.
I struggled single hand standing on steel last week in the mountains of New Mexico. I think I hit a steel at 100 yards maybe twice out of 10 shots. I'm out of practice shooting bullseye style. I could probably hit 12"x12" steel OK at 50 yards single hand standing maybe 1/2 of the shots, don't know. Regular paper bullseye target at 50 yards is what I need to practice. Wrist rest is easy compared to standing single hand, that's for sure.
I shot my Kadet at 100 yards on Tuesday from a wrist rest and that went well. I may try it at 50 a few times before wasting any expensive .45 ammo at 50!
