Hello, I am new to the forum but have been shooting Shadow 2's for a few years.  I just acquired an Omega P-01 Urban Grey Suppressor-Ready and swapped the decocker with the safety.  My safety stays locked in the fire position or it stays locked in the safe position depending on the position of the safety tab detent on the safety.  The safety moves as it should if I remove the detent but there is no positive lock or click on it.  How do I fix the safety so it has positive engagement?  Thank you.

Is it "stuck" as in nothing will move it?  Or is it just very "tight" and way harder to move than it should be?

I ask because one of my Omegas (don't remember which one now) was so hard to move it took two thumbs to move it at first.  I sat here watching TV and forcing the safety back and forth till my thumb got tired, switched to the other thumb, worked till it got tired, went back to the other thumb, worked till it got tired and then worked the safety with my fingers back and forth.

It got easier the more I worked it and finally got to what I felt was acceptable.  I'd oil that post/flat piece/detent and spring up before doing that.

No idea why that one pistol was tougher than the others, but it's been "normal" for the years since I broke it in that day watching TV.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

It does not move - not 1 millimetre.  Mind you, I have not tried to move it with all my strength.  It only moves up and down if I remove the detent tab on the safety.  I wrote to CZ yesterday and I am waiting for their response.

Think I would send it back to factory and let them fix it.  Sounds like one or more parts is out specification.

Update: I adjusted the safety detent to the "middle position" (which requires careful positioning) so it was not pointing up or down, if that makes sense.  After adjusting the detent, I pushed the safety into position and it clicked into the frame (flush) in the fire position.  I pulled the hammer back and pushed the safety up to the safe position and it moved!  I had to push it hard but not crazy hard.  The safety now moves up and down and has a positive engagement in each position.  All is well.  Thanks for the suggestions.

Glad you got it.  Glad you got it without having to ship it back.

It's always nice to learn a little more about your pistol.  If it happens again in the future, you know exactly what to do.

By the way, had you taken the left side safety off and had the plastic piece fall out and then put it back in?  I'm curious as I've had mine out several times (lost the plastic piece in my 9MM P09 one time) and had not had that issue when putting the plastic piece back in place on the safety and inserting the safety.  But, if it happened on yours I wonder if it could happen to one of mine....if it does, maybe I can remember to check that piece's location.

I put the safety on and off multiple times while sometimes changing the orientation of the detent tab and it never fell off when I removed or installed the safety.  However, the little plastic tab and the spring did fly off a couple of times while I was changing its orientation.  Finding the plastic tab wasn't hard but I had the spring fall on a carpet once and it almost drove me mad trying to find it.  A big magnet helps :)

Here's a close-up image of how the detent tab looks.  It looks pretty beat up after I got it to work as per my previous post.

The detent tab seems to be in the correct position but it looks a little chewed up.

Might want to order a couple spares.  Looks like lots of pieces hanging loose and ready to fall off/work their way inside the frame and cause issues.

Mine have been in place/use for 8 years or so on the P07 .40 and the P09 9MM.  I had them apart last year to install CGW reduced power trigger return springs and firing pin block springs and firing pin retaining pins.  None of them looked nearly as rough as that one.

I plan to order new parts.  It's a little hard getting parts in Canada as local distributors are not well stocked on these parts or Cajun Gun Works parts for that matter.  Thanks.
