Rami in .357 Sig..
« on: April 02, 2021, 03:06:43 AM »
Just came from the range shooting my polymer 9mm Rami and my .40 Rami  converted to .357 Sig( reamed 9mm barrel by a gunsmith).75 rounds on the polymer and only 40 on the .357 Sig ( kicks like hell, but controllable). So far no bulging on the polymer 9mm! Hope ammo will be more available soon and cheaper! Thank God!

Good that you got to shoot the .40 converted to .357 Sig.  I had .40, 9mm, and .357 Sig barrels for my original .40 cal Sig P226 alum frame pistol and enjoyed shooting the .357 Sig but man it was different from the lightly loaded 9mm I usually shot!

The absolute worst combination is a .40 cal version of a 3" barrel polymer subcompact, like a Kahr PM-40.  That is a hand canon.  Not fun.  Loved the Kahr striker trigger...until the gun went off.  I quit shooting it as I got older and less tolerant of discomfort.

Have a project working to create a P-06.  Have a P01 frame and a 40 S&W compact slide.  Will send to CZ Custom for fitting and a 357 SIG barrel.  Love the 357 SIG cartridge and have no issues reloading.  Easiest of all pistol rounds to get accurate reloads.  Even like my SIG 239 in 357, it is significantly louder than 9mm, but the recoil is only marginally increased for double the energy delivered to target.  Also over penetration is reduced as  no HP I have found that will not open at 357 SIG speeds.

The Rami in .357 Sig is not too punishing to shoot! Actually just as much of a kicker in the .40. I usually just go for 25 rounds when I do shoot it. Now looking to get a 9mm barrel for it if I can find one. Works with a 9mm barrel as I tried it with my 9mm stainless 2075 P.
