VZ-52 (Rifle) Extracting but not Ejecting
« on: February 05, 2021, 10:44:00 AM »
*My post got moved from the general forum to the “CZ52” one. What I have is a “VZ52”, which is a semi-automatic rifle, not a pistol.*

Good morning,

I'm glad I found this forum through a google search.  I've got a VZ52 (from the Classic Firearms import), and finally got setup for and made some 7.62x45 cases from 6.5x52 Carcano brass.  The problem now is, they extract but are not ejecting.  The bolt is pulling them straight back all the way to the stop and doesn't want to let go.  At its further point rearward, all that happens is the case is angled upwards slightly, then its brought back in line when the rearward pressure on the handle is released.

Any ideas what may be wrong?

V/R,
Mike

I'm not familiar with the design you are talking about, put another way I know what it is but have never owned one. But it sounds like the problem involves the ejector (?)
It's not saving any water if you have to flush it over and over....

Under normal circumstances that would be the obvious answer. However, since I’m using 7.62x45 cases made from another caliber, that adds an extra variable.  I haven’t found any references to this problem being caused by Carcano cases, but there’s just not that much data out there to begin with.
