75b ? Safety Loose?
« on: February 27, 2021, 03:53:46 PM »
Hello, folks. I've had an account here for the longest time but never got around to posting anything due to my time spent over at the AK Files learning about my rifle and life in general keeping me busy.

To the subject at hand, I recently got a Kadet .22 kit to put on my 75b ?, so I decided to dedicate the kit to this frame so that it'd more or less be a range toy and/or practice module. It had the decocker installed from when I first got it and I figured the manual safety would be more appropriate for something in .22, so I proceeded to swap it, being sure to carefully follow the instructions in the booklet [and getting help from a YouTube video by a more experienced CZ fanatic] but I can't help but feel that the safety is... Loose.

It's able to engage while the hammer is in half-cock, which to my understanding is something it isn't supposed to do. When the hammer is back it engages as it should, but putting any tension on the trigger will cause the safety to automatically disengage. Keep in mind, my decocker worked perfectly before this swap.

I feel like there's something missing from the assembly of the pistol to give the safety that positive click when it's engaged or disengaged, and I don't feel right taking it out to shoot until I figure out if it's safe. It's been a while since I've been deep into the guts of a CZ handgun, so any help is greatly appreciated. I more importantly wonder if this is something I can fix, or if it's something I'll have to take to CZ.
CZ the day.

Let it be know that OP is talking about a 75 B Omega.

I would check that the spring loaded Safety detent is installed in the safety lever.
Will work for CZ pics! (including but not limited to all CZ clones)

The little piece of shiny black plastic (with a spring pushing it against the left side safety shaft) has to be in place or the safety won't be nice and crisp and stay locked in the SAFE or FIRE positions.

I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

Update!

Sure enough, it was the lack of the safety detent causing the issue. Luckily the previous owner had kept it with the rest of the factory-standard items in the box, and I thusly installed it and it works perfect now.

Thanks M1A4ME for the pic, I was about to install it backwards until I took a second look at your reply.

You must be careful of that detent anytime you remove or install the safety lever as it becomes dislodged pretty easily and can go flying into another dimension never to be seen again.
