CZ 75 spring kit install
« on: February 11, 2021, 03:30:47 PM »
I just tried installing a spring kit in my CZ 75 compact the hammer spring in the kit is to long and wont work, this will a carry gun and all I am trying to do is lighten the trigger a bit before I do anymore is there a difference between a CZ 75 compact and a CZ 75 B compact everything I see uses the term CZ 75 B compact

I believe that the CZ 75 Compact models use the same Hammer Springs as the full size models. The Main Spring Plug on the compacts is different to compensate for the spring length.

What spring kit specifically are you trying to use?
Will work for CZ pics! (including but not limited to all CZ clones)

They use the same springs, compact and full size, minus the recoil spring.
The 75 compact and 75 b compact are the same thing.  The "B" destination just means the gun has a firing pin block and CZ has been using FPB since the mid 90s.

Depending on how long that spring has been in the gun, it may have lost power and compressed.  1/4 inch is not much, have seen them shrink considerably more.  I would not use a factory power spring if I was trying to drop and smooth out trigger pull.  would probably go down to a 15lb spring or even a 13 if it would still reliably set off CCI primers (reloads) or Blazer Ammo, as they are about the toughest primers to detonate.

Best wishes on your project.  Hope this helped.

Listing what spring you ordered and elaborating on the issue you are having installing it may be helpful to others trying to assist you.

Pics would be helpful for starters. The spring length means nothing at this point as springs will often be longer or shorter and it's the springs "rate" that affects it's operation as far as reducing or increasing tension.
Pics of the package you got with a part number will be very helpful.

The hammer must be in the fired position.  Hammer up/against the back of the frame or it makes it just about impossible to compress that spring, new or old.

Even with the hammer in the correct position it can be tough to compress the spring enough to get it back in position.

I cheat.

Does your main spring plug have the loop on the bottom?  Or is it flat?  If it has the loop on the bottom put it then you can get a small piece of wood and push the plug up in the frame till it's lined up and you can put the pin that holds the plug in place in the frame.

If no lanyard loop on the bottom of the plug then you can take a small piece of wood, screw a small wood screw into the piece of wood and use that to push the main spring plug up into the frame while you put the pin in it.

You just lay the piece of wood on your bench/table, grab the frame with one hand, start the main spring plug into the frame, hold both (frame and plug) while turning the frame bottom down and placing the plug on the wood (lanyard loop plug) or screw head (flat plug) and push down while inserting the pin.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?
