CGW CZ P10C Short Reset Trigger installation problem
« on: March 13, 2021, 06:12:00 PM »
Hi all,

I'm attempting to install CGW part #10102 (short reset trigger) into my P10F and once installed I cannot get the trigger to fully reset.  It seems the over-travel stop is contacting the front of the cutout in the frame and not allowing the trigger to reset, so the trigger cannot come fully forward to the point where the trigger safety re-engages.  There is very little trigger travel...almost none, actually.

Suggestions?  The trigger is the brand new, G10 version with the built-in over travel stop, and the pistol is a 2018 P10F with the only mods being a CGW striker and a fiber optic front sight.  Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

And yes, I know how to properly install a CZ P10 trigger, as I’ve run an HBI in here before.  Something is just off with this CGW one and I’m perplexed.

The "over-travel" stop on the trigger needed to be greatly filed down, nearly to the point of being flush with the curvature of the trigger, in order for the trigger to reset enough to 1) allow the trigger-blade safety to engage (pop out when the trigger swings out past the frame) and 2) to allow the firing pin safety to engage.  Perhaps these 2018 P10F models are odd ones, but there's no way the CGW trigger would drop in to mine and even remotely function properly.

That said, it's all good to go now, and I'll range-test it this week and see if it reduces the trigger sting I experienced with the stock trigger.  I will say the CGW trigger is very comfortable...far more so than the stock one.

So far so good.  Trigger is nice and is an improvement over stock. No issues whatsoever in function or comfort.  I’ll shoot it more this week as I want to see if I prefer the fiber optic front sight over what I have on my other pistols.
