Forged steel receiver.
Lightest steel pump 12 ga. made.
Another fine example of the genius of John Browning's design ability.
Everyone in my family has at least two (my dad only bought my mom one.)
None have every broken. They run from pre WW2 to the mid to late 60's in age (all original Ithaca made in NY guns, none of the newer ones - which may be alright, we've just had ours for a long time.)
Ours have been used in WV, IL, TX, AR, VA, ND, MI and TN. They've killed deer, turkeys, ruffed grouse, sharptail grouse, ring neck pheasants, rabbits (cotton tail, jack and snowshoe), quail (bob white and scaled), squirrels (gray, fox), hungarian partridge, several species of ducks and even doves.
None have ever broken.
12 ga. (mostly) and two or three 16 ga. No 20's in the family.
Buy it. You won't be sorry.
The satin nickel guns are rare. I've only seen a couple in my whole life. Lots of blued ones. A few parkerized ones.
