lighter slide spring

I have a cz75d pcr in 9mm. It is a bit hard to rack the slide.  where can I get a lighter recoil spring that will make it easier to rack and still be able to go back to full battery.  I hear sometimes that the lighter recoil springs won't reset the slide back to fire position .   this is the only spring i want to replace, I'm happy with the trigger pull.  thanks

Get the CGW recoil spring pack. It comes in different spring weights and just use one that suits best for your application.

Changing a recoil spring simply because the slide is hard for you to rack is not a proper fix and can affect the reliability and longevity of the pistol. Using a different method to rack the slide is the prudent fix. Try the push pull method where you hold the pistol as normal in your shooting hand and grasp the slide with the off hand. You then apply forward pressure on the frame while applying rearward pressure on the slide so your moving both in the opposite direction. This has helped many people who have had this type of complaint with semi automatic pistols.

only reason I mentioned about slide spring is my son has the full size 75b and his is easier to rack then mine, even he says mine is hard as heck to rack and he has stronger hands. Like you said, he mentioned  to  change my rack method to like  how you said to do it., it is easier, . I bought the gun used and was wondering if maybe the previous owner put in a heavier spring?  Are the different springs you put in color coded as to the spring weight? would putting the hammer on half cock before racking make it easier and not cause an issue with safety?  thanks for both of yall's replies.

His is easier because it's a full size. My glock 43x is harder to rack the slide vs my Glock 34. My 43x did get considerably easier as I put more rounds through it.

Yes you can put the hammer at half cock to help ease racking the slide many do this in addition to the push pull racking method. Without knowing the age of your gun the CZ compacts such as the PCR over the last several years come with a flat wire spring and it's generally green in color. I own 2 PCR's and a 75B compact all of which have the green flat wire spring from the factory.

FWIW, my PCR with 1200 rounds through it is still stiff and my wife can't rack it very well. But she has no problem with the Phantom and it probably has about 2500 rounds through it. But that flat spring in the PCR is stiff.

why is the pcr spring so stiff compared to a full size 75b.  are both  the same length and the pcr has less room for spring compression?
