A federal judge found the government liable for failures in the background check system that allowed the Sutherland Springs shooter to obtain his firearm.

United States District Judge Xavier Rodriguez ruled on Tuesday that the families of those killed in the Texas attack, which left 25 dead and 20 more injured, can be awarded damages from the government. He found members of Air Force leadership did not provide proper oversight for the process of transferring the shooter’s disqualifying criminal records to the gun background check system. That allowed the shooter to pass multiple background checks he would have failed if his records had been in the system.

Experts told me that was a first. But a similar case brought by families of the Charleston church shooting victims could soon go the same way.

Hopefully that will lead to lawsuits against prosecutors/judges/parole boards that let criminals back out on the street vs. putting them in jail.

Saw a case a couple days ago where a home owner shot and killed a guy who kicked the front door of his house down to make entry.  The police confirmed the dead guy was out on bond for similar violent breaking and entering crimes.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

With the way the media is doing nowadays, they’ll twist this one around and use it as a rallying call for expanded universal background checks.

There was a local case few years ago about a judge letting a drug dealer off because he was just trying to "provide" for his family. Wonder if that would work for bank robbers. Politicians want to make new laws but wont enforce the ones on the books.
