When I first got into shooting around 2000 this was a very active resource. Any info as to why it went dormant/extinct? Are the parties still around?

The website came right up for me. Have you tried looking it up yourself?

Yes, the website is still there, but they no longer update, offer goods, etc.
It's still a good resource, but wondering why it went inactive?

I wouldn't know for sure as I never got into the Makarovs at all. I did play with the 7.62X25 caliber for a period but completely abandoned that several years ago. That surplus stuff was popular after the fall of the wall and it was cheap to buy with a great supply of cheap surplus ammo to go with it. I suspect now that the surpluses of guns and cheap ammo have long since run out the popularity of that stuff has waned greatly. Not many places are loading the 9X18 or the 7.62X25 at this point especially with the current shortages but even before that what commercial ammo that was available for those guns was expensive. Any that can be found now will be off the chart. I simply wasn't going to pay $25+ a box for 7.62X25 just to shoot some obscure outdated commie pistol so I sold off the guns I had and what ammo I had on hand and never looked back.
So simply I think when the great deals went away the interest went with it.

Maybe the site owner just lost interest or moved on to another passion.
I have a couple of Makarovs... one cheap Russian commercial version; a Baikal in .380, and a very nice East German surplus example. I think they're great pistols.
I also have a Makarov T-shirt from Makarovv.com that I must have purchased more than ten years ago.
